  • Allen Gruver, PT, ATC, PRC, CSCS

    Allen obtained his bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa with distinction and received his Master’s Degree from Elon University in North Carolina and was honored with the “Excellence in Clinical Research Award.” In 2006, Allen earned his certification from the Postural Restoration Institute becoming 1 of 23 certified therapists in the country and Arizona’s first and only certified clinician. Allen has extensive experience lecturing to hundreds of physicians and other health care professionals across the country on in-depth biomechanical assessment and advanced treatments utilizing the PRI methodology for common musculoskeletal pathologies and dysfunctions. Allen is a physical therapy/biomechanical consultant for The University of Arizona, Arizona Diamondbacks, Denver Broncos and several NCAA athletes, Olympic swimmers, MLB professionals and LPGA/Nationwide tour professionals.


  • Rob Henert, PT

    Rob, originally from the Chicago area, received his B.S. in Physical Therapy from Marquette University in 1987. He began his career rotating through several therapy specialties at the University of Michigan Hospitals and Clinics in Ann Arbor, Michigan. During that time he also coached a wheelchair basketball team. After a summer spent backpacking throughout Europe, he returned to his roots in Chicago where he worked in two different sports medicine clinics. Rob then moved out west and spent a few years working in both outpatient orthopedic and inpatient rehabilitation clinics as a traveling or “locum tenens” physical therapist. He settled in Tucson in 1995 where he developed and managed two different outpatient clinics for a rehabilitation hospital.


  • Renae Gruver, DPT

    Renae is a neuro trained physical therapist specializing in pediatrics. Renae completed her undergraduate work in Omaha Nebraska at Creighton University. She then went on to graduate with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2005. After working for 4 years at a neuro rehab facility working with adults and children, she is currently developing the pediatric program at Foothills rehab in Gilbert. She has extensive experience with diagnoses such as torticollis, club feet, hip dysplasia, TBI, developmental delay, and many other pediatric conditions. Renae lives in Queen Creek with her husband Allen, baby boy Benjamin and two dogs, Ober and Sedona. She loves being a mommy and enjoys every minute that she gets to spend watching her baby grow. Renae and her family love traveling to San Diego for beach trips or hiking when the weather permits. She really enjoys being a physical therapist because of the relationships she builds with all kinds of people as she helps them recover or progress to the best of their abilities.

    Ben Hagar, PT, MPT, CSCS

    Ben is a licensed physical therapist and certified strength and conditioning specialist.  Ben is originally from Reno, Nevada and is a former collegiate baseball player at Cerro Coso College; he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology in 2007 and Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from California State University, Sacramento in 2009.  Ben enjoys helping people of all ages get past injury and get back to healthy, pain-free lives. He has also treated many top athletes including professional baseball players and various Arizona State University athletes.  Ben lives in Scottsdale with his wife, Jessica, and enjoys the outdoors, sporting events, golf and live music in his spare time.

    Lindsay Whipple, PT, DPT

    Lindsay recently moved from Vermont to join the Foothills team. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from the University of Tampa in 2007 where she was awarded “Graduate of the Year” for academic achievement and community involvement. After a year of working as a NASM certified personal trainer, she returned to her home state to continue her education at the University of Vermont, earning her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2011. While completing her degree, Lindsay gained experience in many aspects of physical therapy and enjoyed the opportunity to work with patients of all ages and abilities including numerous college football, NFL, MLB and Olympic athletes. Lindsay has also been a competitive equestrian for over 20 years, with accomplishments including a collegiate national championship and the opportunity to train with the US Olympic Equestrian team in Europe. She values the importance of perseverance and a positive attitude and enjoys sharing that with others to help them achieve their rehabilitation goals.

    Carl Biscontini, PT, DPT, CSCS, TPI-CGFI, ACSM-HFS

    Carl is originally from North-Eastern Pennsylvania.  He obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology with a concentration on Strength and Conditioning from East Stroudsburg University and received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Temple University.  In addition to being a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Carl holds certifications by Titleist Performance Institute as a certified golf fitness instructor and a certified functional movement screen administrator.  He enjoys helping patients by integrating corrective functional strategies with a hands-on approach to treat common movement dysfunctions and return them to a healthy, pain-free lifestyle. Carl resides in Gilbert, AZ and enjoys playing golf, watching any sporting event, and spending time with his family and dog, Humphrey Bogart.


  • Ken Crenshaw, ATC, CSCS

    Ken has been with the Arizona Diamondbacks as their Head Athletic Trainer since 2006. Previously, Ken was the Head Athletic Trainer for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays (2003-2005) and the assistant Athletic Trainer (1998-2002) after serving as the organization’s minor league Athletic Trainer and Conditioning Coordinator for two seasons. Prior to joining Tampa Bay, Ken worked for four years as the Minor League Conditioning Coordinator for the Atlanta Braves. He also served as an Athletic Trainer in the Pittsburgh Pirates’ farm system, working with affiliates in Princeton, West Virginia and Welland, Ontario. A native of New Mexico, Ken received an undergraduate degree in Sports Medicine from New Mexico State University in 1990. He is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainer’s Association and the National Strength and Conditioning Association.


  • Nathan Shaw, ATC, CSCS

    Nathan joined the Arizona Diamondbacks as their Strength and Conditioning Coordinator in 2006. He is responsible for designing and implementing the Strength and Conditioning programs for the Major League team as well as supervising the design and implementation for all seven Minor League Teams. Prior to his arrival with the Diamondbacks, Nathan worked with the Devil Rays as the Minor League Strength and Conditioning Coordinator for two years. He was also an Athletic Trainer with the Devil Rays in the New York Penn League. A transplant Floridian, Nathan attended the University of Florida where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Health and Performance with an Athletic Training specialization. He is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainer’s Association and the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
