Matthew Yeomans, MSPT, OCS, CSCS, graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2000 and now treats patients at the downtown Foothills’ Phoenix physical therapy facility, where he is excited to provide a number of services to a diverse patient population. Originally from Michigan, Matt has practiced as a licensed physical therapist for nearly 16 years. His passion lies in helping patients of all ages, with a wide variety of conditions that impact their lives.

As an outdoor enthusiast and with specific interests in bodybuilding, power lifting, triathlons, extreme racing, and mixed martial arts, Matt lives and breathes the wellness programs he prescribes to his patients. A certified strength and conditioning specialist, Matt also holds an orthopedic clinical specialist certification (OCS) through the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).

Joining Matt in the downtown facility are three other physical therapists, a PT assistant, and a caring front office and support staff. They are a bilingual and able to accommodate a wide variety of patient types, from a wide variety of backgrounds. The updated facility provides plenty of space to perform sports-specific training, work-related job simulation and hands-on manual therapy. The Downtown Phoenix physical therapy is exceptionally skilled at identifying movement dysfunction, biomechanical impairments, and muscle imbalances. They are able to design and implement highly effective, scientifically backed treatment programs that get patients back to their sport, back to work and back to life.

Specialties at this clinic include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Post Operative Rehabilitation – whether you’ve had an ACL reconstruction, rotator cuff repair, or a joint replacement, the therapists understand the importance of the unique needs of patients who have had recently undergone surgery.
  • Acute Injury Rehabilitation – acute sprains, strains, or the onset of back pain can be debilitating for patients. The therapists use cutting-edge manual treatments, including Functional Dry Needling (FDN), instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization techniques, and manual joint mobilization should your condition require it.
  • Chronic Injury Rehabilitation – Chronic injury can be as debilitating as surgery or acute injury. The downtown crew will develop a program and intervention with a focus on manual techniques, and design exercise programs to address underlying musculoskeletal imbalances. Matt and the team of therapists downtown focus on getting you back to doing the things you love.

Whether you’re an injured athlete looking to get back on the field or a retiree who is looking to remain active and pain-free, Foothills’ Downtown Phoenix physical therapy location is here for you!
