Foothills Sports Medicine Physical Therapy is comprised of a diverse group of amazing team members that make the Foothills experience one of a kind. Each brings their own experiences, specialties, and personalities to the team. We understand that each employee impacts our patients’ physical therapy experience, and we like to reward someone when we see them go above and beyond.
Our physical therapists are the staple of our business, so each month we like to recognize an outstanding member of our staff by naming them the physical therapist (PT) of the month. This month, our PT of the month is Scott Sassaman. Scott practices physical therapy at our Arrowhead location, and has been with the Foothills Team since March of 2014.
Like many physical therapists, Scott first discovered the field of physical therapy, and its benefits, first-hand through an injury. After experiencing improvements in his injury, Scott was drawn toward a career in physical therapy.
He left the Phoenix Valley to pursue his physical therapy training at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in beautiful Provo, UT. After the completion of his degree, he thankfully decided to return to the Arizona desert and joined our team in March of 2014.
Each day Scott diagnoses and educates patients on their pathology. He also prescribes appropriate manual and therapeutic interventions at the Foothills Arrowhead Clinic.
The best part of his job? “I enjoy the amazing atmosphere we have at our clinic. There is high energy and the staff and patients are great,” Scott says.
In his spare time, Scott enjoys getting outside to enjoy all of the beauty Arizona has to offer. He lists hiking and cycling as favorite pastimes. In addition, he loves spending time with his family, indoors or out.
For those considering a career in physical therapy, or actively pursuing a degree, Scott’s advice is to “study hard and continue to learn throughout your career.”
