In order to reap the benefits of your hard work-outs, recovery is important. Outlining overtraining symptoms can get complex. Here are some general signs that you may be overtraining and need to take a break:

  • Insomnia
  • Chronic achiness or pain in the muscles and/or joints (injury…need we say more?)
  • Fatigue (both physical and mental)
  • Headaches
  • Elevated morning pulse
  • Sudden inability to complete workouts
  • Feeling unmotivated and lacking energy
  • Inability to concentrate
  • Increased susceptibility to colds, sore   throats and other illnesses
  • Loss in appetite
  • Decrease in performance
  • Depression
